Advances in HIV-1 Virus Detection: Nanotechnology-Based Systems

Abstract:

This abstract presents recent advancements in the development of HIV-1 virus detection systems, with a focus on nanotechnology-based approaches. The detection of HIV-1 virus is crucial for early diagnosis and treatment monitoring in individuals infected with the virus. Nanotechnology offers unique advantages in terms of sensitivity, specificity, and multiplexing capabilities, making it an attractive platform for the development of innovative diagnostic tools. This review discusses various nanotechnology-based systems, including nanoparticle-based assays, nanowire sensors, and nanostructured surfaces, employed for the detection of HIV-1 virus biomarkers such as viral RNA, proteins, and antibodies. Furthermore, the abstract highlights key characteristics and performance metrics of these nanotechnology-based detection systems, as well as their potential applications in clinical diagnostics and public health surveillance. This review covers various fabrication techniques, such as templating, chemical synthesis, and lithography, used to create complex-morphology metal-based nanostructures with precise control over size, shape, and composition. Additionally, the abstract discusses characterization methods, including electron microscopy, spectroscopy, and surface analysis techniques, employed to elucidate the structural and functional properties of these nanostructures. Furthermore, it highlights diverse applications of complex-morphology metal-based nanostructures in areas such as surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), plasmonics, and drug delivery. Computer-Aided Design and In Vitro Evaluation of NSAID Derivatives as AKR1C3 Inhibitors for Breast Cancer Treatment

Abstract:

This study presents a novel approach to breast cancer treatment through the design and evaluation of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) derivatives as inhibitors of AKR1C3, a key enzyme implicated in breast cancer progression. Leveraging computer-aided drug design (CADD) techniques, the abstract outlines the methodology used to develop NSAID derivatives with enhanced AKR1C3 inhibitory activity. Subsequently, in vitro analysis is conducted to assess the efficacy of the designed compounds in inhibiting AKR1C3 and suppressing breast cancer cell proliferation. The findings shed light on the potential of NSAID derivatives as AKR1C3 inhibitors for breast cancer therapy, offering insights into their mechanism of action and therapeutic potential.
